Electrostatic Force: Learn About Its Effects

Click For Summary
The discussion focuses on calculating the electrostatic forces between three charges, q1, q2, and q3, using Coulomb's law. The user presents their calculations, stating that the force between q1 and q3 is -1.125N, while the force between q1 and q2 is 3.5N. There is a request for feedback on the calculations and clarity on the next steps. The conversation emphasizes the importance of showing work in physics problems for accurate assistance. Overall, the thread highlights the application of electrostatic principles in problem-solving.

I'm unable to read the pictures!

a)the forces between q1 and q3
F = k * (q1 * q3/d13^2)
k = (1/4πεo) = 9 * 10^9 Nm^2/C^2 and d13= 20 cm = 20 * 10^-2 m
F=-1.125N
b)the force between charges q1 and q3 is
F1 = k * (q1 * q3/d13^2)
= -1.125N
the force between charges q1 and q2 is
F2 = k * (q1 * q2/d12^2)
=3.5N
