SUMMARY

Engineering Physics majors can pursue graduate degrees such as Master of Engineering (M.Eng) and Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng) at various universities. Cornell University offers a flexible curriculum allowing students to focus on specific engineering disciplines like Mechanical Engineering (MechE) and Chemical Engineering (ChemE). Many students opt for an additional year to complete a master's degree in Applied and Engineering Physics or related fields, depending on their chosen focus within the Engineering Physics major. The discussion highlights the importance of selecting a specialization to enhance career prospects in graduate studies.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Engineering Physics curriculum
  • Familiarity with graduate degree options in engineering
  • Knowledge of specialization areas such as Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering
  • Awareness of university programs offering M.Eng and D.Eng degrees
NEXT STEPS
  • Research graduate programs in Engineering Physics at universities like Cornell University
  • Explore the curriculum for Applied and Engineering Physics master's degrees
  • Investigate specialization options within Engineering Physics, particularly in MechE and ChemE
  • Learn about the application process for M.Eng and D.Eng degrees
USEFUL FOR

Engineering Physics students, prospective graduate students in engineering, and academic advisors guiding students in their educational paths.

Hello,

I am an Engineering Physics major. Are there graduate engineering degrees offered for engineering physics? For example M.eng and D.eng? At which universities?

Also,

*What is the issue regarding offering graduate degrees with EP?

Thanks,
Jounce

Hello, I am an Engineering Physics major in Cornell University. At C.U, the E.P students pick the classes that they want to focus on more, such as classes focused on MechE, ChemE, etc. Many people usually do one extra year for their masters in Applied and Engineering Physics degree, physics, MechE, ChemE, etc. This is all depended on your focus under the E.P major.
