SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on calculating the states of gas in a Carnot cycle for a jet engine and plotting these states on a T-S diagram. The user seeks to evaluate temperature as a function of entropy change during a polytropic process, using only the initial and final states. Key formulas mentioned include ΔS=qrev/T for reversible processes and the need for a formula for work done in a polytropic process to facilitate this calculation.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the Carnot cycle and its application in jet engines
  • Knowledge of thermodynamic concepts such as entropy and temperature
  • Familiarity with polytropic processes and their equations
  • Proficiency in plotting T-S diagrams
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specific equations for work done in polytropic processes
  • Learn how to derive temperature as a function of entropy change in thermodynamic systems
  • Explore advanced thermodynamic modeling tools for simulating gas states
  • Study the principles of T-S diagram plotting for various thermodynamic cycles
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, thermodynamics students, and professionals involved in jet engine design and analysis who are looking to deepen their understanding of gas behavior in thermodynamic cycles.

Hej,

basicaly what I have is a program that calculates states of the gas in Carnot cycle (Jet engine). Now my intention is to plot it in T-S diagram. To do that, knowing the states after an each component of engine, I need to evaluate a temperature as a function of Enthropy change knowing only the states at the beginning and end of the polytropic process. Is there any way to do this?.
Thank you

Thank you

ΔS=qrev/T , a reversible process...

And in polytropic process , do you know formula for work done ? After that it will be quite obvious.
