News Establishing the existence of a manuscript with a timestamp (arXiv)

As an alternative to posting on arXiv (due to the endorsement requirement, mainly) -- how sound are the following methods :

1. Use a blockchain based service like stamp.io

From their web site: "Create an immutable record of existence, integrity and ownership for your documents and files"

... then upload / share on blog, web page, whatever

2. Self-publish a small e-book on Amazon, for example.

Well, say a year? That is, for at least a year or two, it should be possible to establish that a given electronic manuscript existed on or before a particular date, and that it was owned by a particular person.

So until it goes through a process of submission, peer review and either acceptance or rejection by a couple of journals

No. How long until "forgers" defeat/work-around "blockchain" based services?
