Hello Everyone
Hope you will be fine
I am trying to estimate assembly wise power distribution of pwr core. Can anyone let me know if F7 tally correspond directly to power distribution or else i need some additional calculations?

F7 is an fission energy deposition tally, as opposed to power, but it should normalize to give the same normalized power distribution.

In MCNP the term fission energy deposition is used as the neutron flux is not sampled in physical units of cm-2s-1 but in cm-2 per source neutron. Because of the missing time unit the term energy deposition is more correct. Nonetheless, we will often use the term power as it is normally used in nuclear reactor nomenclature.

Dear Astronuc thank you for your kind reply Tally normalized to 1 or normalized to average value of the F7 tally? and can you tell me any alternate method of calculating Power distribution please.Regards
