Finite element analysis software

Click For Summary
A civil engineering student seeks free finite element analysis (FEA) software for assignments, emphasizing the need for user-friendly options due to a theoretical course structure. The student anticipates working on simpler structures and is looking for recommendations. LISA80 is mentioned as a viable option, though it has a limitation of 1300 nodes per analysis. The discussion highlights the importance of accessible resources for beginners in FEA. Finding suitable free software is crucial for effective learning in this field.

i am a 3rd year civil engineering student, currently taking a course in which i need to use finite element software for assignments. the course is 100% theory, and i need to learn how to use the software on my own,

i am looking for FREE software with FE capabilities, and preferably one that is easy to use.
i would imagine that i will not have to calculate very complex structures.

what is the best free finite element software for beginners?

you try out LISA80...only problem is it can use only 1300 nodes at a time.
