Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Technical explanation
  • Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses a need for resources in Abstract Algebra due to dissatisfaction with their professor's teaching.

Are there any good websites that give examples and offer help in Abstract Algebra? I have an awful professor that doesn't use a book and gives bad notes. Needless to say, I'm struggling.

Actually it should be voulà, as you can see if you google it.

Let's go with viola. I like music.

Here is a link to plenty of video lectures on Abstract algebra using Artin's Algebra book if you're interested.
The linear algebra video lectures are also using Artin's book. Check out the previous years lectures too.

http://www.extension.harvard.edu/openlearning/math222/ are even more video lectures using Artin's book.

http://www.uccs.edu/~math/vidarchive.html are video lectures using Fraleigh's book on Abstract Algebra.

http://nptel.iitm.ac.in/video.php?courseId=1003&v=oIfnojfCoFpQ is the first of a few lectures on Algebra, you might like to watch the previous videos on proofs, relations etc...
