It's not too late, I think the volcano is still spewing ash.
 
I'd give anything to be able to see one of those volcano lightnings in person.
 
Well it could be errupting for several more years so nows a time to book a get away to it.

I would too. I have seen small lighting bolts generated by the rising smoke and heat from forest fires.
