How Can Humans Understand the Complexity of the Universe in a Limited Time?

I'm pursuing an associate degree at LaGuardia Community College (NY) and my major is electrical engineering. One day I accidentally opened this forum and I found it interesting. I believe that the best way to find solutions in science is to cooperate and share ideas with society, and this forum seems to be the right place.
A lot of questions come up in my mind every day about the mysterious problems of our university, but in particular, there is one question that scares AND excites me; to what extent can humans understand the complexity of the universe given a limited period of time?

Hello everyone, I'm Cosmo. I'm an 18 years old student majoring in physics. I found this forum cause I was searching on Google if it's common for physics student to feel like they're in the wrong major in the first semester cause it feels like too much for me to learn the materials even the ones that are considered as "basic math" or "basic physics", I've initial fascination with the universe's mysteries and it disconnect with the reality of intense, foundational mathematics courses required...
