Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around conducting a solenoid experiment focused on measuring electromagnetic properties such as e.m.f, flux density, and magnetic field strength without access to the necessary equipment. Participants explore the feasibility of obtaining data from others who have the required apparatus.

Discussion Character

  • Debate/contested
  • Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant requests assistance in collecting data for a solenoid experiment due to a lack of equipment, offering a reward for help.
  • Another participant expresses skepticism about the request, suggesting it may be an attempt to circumvent personal responsibility for a project.
  • A different participant reiterates the need for someone with the appropriate apparatus to assist, emphasizing that the request is not related to schoolwork.
  • Some participants question the legitimacy of the request, implying that it resembles typical school project scenarios where assistance is not permitted.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally disagree on the nature of the request, with some believing it is an attempt to avoid doing work and others insisting it is a legitimate plea for help. No consensus is reached regarding the appropriateness of fulfilling the request.

Contextual Notes

There are assumptions about the context of the experiment and the motivations behind the request that remain unresolved. The discussion reflects differing perspectives on academic integrity and the appropriateness of seeking help in this manner.

Hello,

I am doing a solenoid experiment, where I will be examining e.m.f, flux density, Flux, Magnetic field strength, electric field strength, etc... but I have no apparatus or the equipment with me. I was wondering whether someone who has got the equipment could correct all the data for me and send it.

I am in an extremely urgent situation and need to have this data. I will be willing to reward you for your hard work but I can't promise the reward will be huge but will be worth your while.

Someone please help. Thanks.

Correct or Collect?

We can't do school work for you. We can only guide you.

It appears to me that you either have a project which you were supposed to do but haven't and are now trying to find a way around it, or you simply can't be bothered and want someone to do the work for you.

Regardless, I find it hard to believe you would be given this experiment without access to the correct apparatus.

I only see it as this as you've said it's extremely urgent. Personal hobbies don't really come under that guise.

That's "Collect" Sorry,

No this is not school. Please I would like to hear from someone who has the right equipment.

Now James before you continue to ask questions about where I can't "bothered" and making assumptions. This has nothing to do with school work. Let someone who actually has the right equipment nearby help me out before you give the wrong impression. I know how threads like these can turn out ;) This is a simple request for someone who has the apparatus nearby to collect the data for me since I don't have access to one right now. I can reward you your hard work of course.

Please I would like to hear from you if you have the right apparatus.

Based on your OP, it reads like some form of school project. If this is the case, then people here aren't supposed to do it for you.

No this isn't.
