SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the safety concerns of wiring 100 LEDs to a PlayStation 3's 120VAC power supply. The initial proposal involved modifying a night light wiring diagram, which was deemed unsafe by a forum member. While an experienced designer may adapt the circuit safely with proper modifications, the lack of expertise from the original poster raises significant safety risks. The thread was subsequently locked due to these concerns.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic electrical wiring principles
  • Familiarity with LED specifications and power requirements
  • Knowledge of AC to DC conversion techniques
  • Experience with safety protocols for high-voltage circuits
NEXT STEPS
  • Research safe LED wiring techniques for high-voltage applications
  • Learn about AC to DC power supply conversion methods
  • Study electrical safety standards and regulations
  • Explore circuit design software for prototyping LED projects
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for hobbyists, electrical engineers, and anyone interested in safely integrating LEDs into existing power systems, particularly those with limited experience in electrical design.

That circuit is crazy unsafe. Thread locked. PM me to discuss what you want to do, and maybe we can re-open the thread. Lordy.

EDIT -- Okay, in the hands of an experienced designer, this could be safe-ish with the right additions. But in the hands of somebody who says "I'm not sure what I'm doing", that's the crazy part.
