How can online forums help metallurgists learn and share knowledge?

Hi everyone. I'm a metallurgist. Even though I've been "around the block" for many years I feel there are always learning opportunities and these online forums are great for sharing ideas and knowledge and solving problems. I find great value in them. I'm also a big fan of sharing my knowledge to help others learn.
