A/D Signal Processing: Sampling Frequency & Quantization

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the relationship between sampling frequency and quantization in A/D signal processing. With a sampling frequency of 200KHz and a maximum analog signal frequency of 80KHz, the quantization must be calculated to achieve a bitrate of 6Mb/s. The user successfully determined the necessary bits for quantization to meet this bitrate requirement.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of A/D signal processing concepts
  • Knowledge of sampling theorem and Nyquist rate
  • Familiarity with bitrate calculations
  • Basic principles of quantization in digital signals
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem
  • Learn about quantization error and its impact on signal quality
  • Explore different quantization techniques in digital signal processing
  • Investigate methods for calculating bitrate in A/D conversion
USEFUL FOR

Electrical engineers, digital signal processing specialists, and students studying A/D conversion techniques will benefit from this discussion.

Hello,

I'd like to know the relation between the sampling frequency and the quantization.

If the sampling frequency is 200KHz, and the analog signal ahs a maximum frequency of 80KHz, How many bits will the qantization be done to have a 6Mb/s bitrate?
