I am a Metallurgical Engineer, retired and consulting
Working with nonferrous metals, primarily copper and precious metals, processes and applications.
Now specifically involved with high-temperature copper alloys use as heat flux components in aerospace and some high energy physics stuff with National Labs, same and similar alloy(s) used in ITER tokamak. These have been around a long time as welding electrode materials.
I also chair a subcommittee for AWS rewriting material standards for Resistance Welding Material.
As the much of the copper alloy manufacturing in the US has become a dinosaur, I spend a lot of time with off-shore factories in Europe and Asia.
