How maglev(magnetic leviation) works?

i was searching for maglev on internet for my school science projects and i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrRG38WpkTQ" on youtube which i thought i was actually looking for it.
i know that maglev is based on repulsion of poles but how to keep our magnet to construct that type of thing which is shown i this video. in this video the girl suspends the pencil in air which is attached with two magnets and it is suspended by four magnet which she kept at bottom. if you'll watch that video it will help you to understand what i am trying to say.
