How to read a Thermodynamic table?

AI Thread Summary
To determine whether to use the Pressure Table or the Temperature Table in thermodynamic problems, the choice depends on the given parameters of pressure and temperature. Both tables provide equivalent information, allowing for flexibility in data retrieval. If the problem specifies either temperature or pressure, using the corresponding table can simplify the process and potentially eliminate the need for interpolation. Understanding the context of the problem is crucial for selecting the appropriate table. Ultimately, familiarity with both tables enhances problem-solving efficiency in thermodynamics.

When solving a word problem in Thermodynamics and are given both pressure and tempreature of a fluid or water, how do we know if we should get information about internal energy and entropy from the Pressure Table or the Temperature Table?

Hi Beembo, :welcome:

You could be a bit more specific. Here is a link with the tables you mention (A4 and A5). There is also an A6 etc. What's the problem ?

The tables are equivalent. You might be able to avoid interpolation if you know the temperature or the pressure.

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
