How to Write an Average Velocity Symbol in Microsoft Word?

Click For Summary
To write the average velocity symbol in Microsoft Word 2007, users can utilize the equation editor feature. The average velocity is represented by placing a line over the letter 'v', similar to how \bar x denotes average values. Access the equation editor by navigating to the "Insert" tab and selecting "Equation." Users can then type the letter 'v' and apply the bar formatting to achieve the desired symbol. This method effectively communicates the concept of average velocity in physics notes.

as in - The line over the v indicates an average or a mean.

I've always seen \bar x used to express average values.

The book claims the answer is that all the magnitudes are the same because "the gravitational force on the penguin is the same". I'm having trouble understanding this. I thought the buoyant force was equal to the weight of the fluid displaced. Weight depends on mass which depends on density. Therefore, due to the differing densities the buoyant force will be different in each case? Is this incorrect?
