I Need Immediate Help For Solving Electric Potential

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on calculating the electric potential generated by three point charges located at specific coordinates. The charges include a +6 microcoulomb charge positioned 0.3m north of the origin, a -10 microcoulomb charge 0.2m east of the origin, and a +12 microcoulomb charge 0.15m south of the origin. The formula for electric potential (V) is given by V = k * (q/r), where k is Coulomb's constant (8.99 x 10^9 N m²/C²), q is the charge, and r is the distance from the charge to the point of interest. The total electric potential at a point is the algebraic sum of the potentials due to each charge.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Coulomb's Law and electric potential
  • Familiarity with the concept of point charges
  • Basic knowledge of coordinate systems in physics
  • Ability to perform vector addition of scalar quantities
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the principles of electric potential and its calculation
  • Learn about Coulomb's constant and its application in electric potential equations
  • Explore vector addition techniques for combining electric potentials
  • Investigate the effects of multiple charges on electric potential in a two-dimensional space
USEFUL FOR

Students in physics, electrical engineers, and anyone involved in electrostatics or electric field calculations.

I Need Immediate Help For Solving Electric Potential!

Ok, here is the problem.

I have an x and y axis.

a +6 micro coulomb charge is .3m north from the origin.

a -10 micro couloumb is .2m east from the origin

and a +12 micro coulomb is .15m south from the origin.

how do i solve this?

please help me immediatly.

What is the formula for electric potential and how do you add(hint) the potentials on the charges?
