Is there any interpretation of QM that is Psi-ontic, local, and has wave function collapse?
In quantum mechanics, interpretation refers to the various ways in which physicists and philosophers attempt to understand and explain the mathematical formalism and experimental observations of quantum theory. These interpretations often involve different conceptual frameworks and assumptions about the nature of reality.
The psiontic interpretation posits that there is a fundamental connection between the observer and the observed, and that consciousness plays a role in the collapse of the quantum wavefunction. On the other hand, the local interpretation assumes that there is no such connection and that all physical processes follow local, deterministic laws.
In the psiontic interpretation, the collapse of the wavefunction is thought to be triggered by the conscious observation of a quantum system. In the local interpretation, the collapse is explained by the presence of hidden variables or by the interaction of the system with its environment.
Currently, there is no experimental evidence that conclusively supports one interpretation over the other. The predictions of quantum mechanics have been confirmed by numerous experiments, but the interpretations themselves are still a subject of debate and discussion among physicists.
Some physicists have attempted to combine elements of both the psiontic and local interpretations in order to create a more comprehensive understanding of quantum mechanics. However, these attempts have not yet resulted in a widely accepted unified interpretation, and the debate continues.
