The discussion centers around the impact of war, particularly the conflict in Iraq, and the moral implications of violence. Participants express concern over the suffering of innocent civilians due to U.S. military actions, highlighting the emotional toll and the cyclical nature of violence. There is a debate about the effectiveness of military solutions versus addressing the root causes of conflict, with some advocating for a focus on rebuilding Iraq rather than perpetuating violence. The conversation also touches on the complexities of labeling individuals in conflict as terrorists or freedom fighters, depending on perspective. Participants express a mix of anger, sadness, and a desire for resolution, while grappling with the moral dilemmas of war and the consequences of military intervention. The discussion reflects a deep division in views on how to approach the situation in Iraq and the broader implications of such conflicts.

Nobody's making that statement.

Well then, this is the most odd, out of place, statement I have ever see in the middle of a conversation about insurgents in Iraq.

If a foreign nation deposed President Bush and occupied our land with designs on our resources, some of us would take up arms against that nation (call it "France"). These people would be called terrorists by the "French," freedom fighters by "Fance's" enemies, and patriots by Americans.
