SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on the correct approach to solving partial differential equations (PDEs). Participants emphasize the importance of clarity in presenting problems, specifically recommending the use of typed text and LaTeX for mathematical expressions instead of images. The lack of responses is attributed to the difficulty in understanding the user's handwritten work. Adhering to a structured homework template is suggested to facilitate better feedback.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of partial differential equations (PDEs)
  • Familiarity with LaTeX for mathematical typesetting
  • Knowledge of effective communication in academic forums
  • Experience with structured problem-solving templates
NEXT STEPS
  • Learn how to use LaTeX for formatting mathematical equations
  • Research best practices for presenting homework problems in online forums
  • Explore structured templates for solving mathematical problems
  • Study common methods for solving partial differential equations
USEFUL FOR

Students studying mathematics, educators teaching PDEs, and anyone seeking to improve their problem presentation skills in academic discussions.

I am wondering if this is the right direction in solving this. any input would be great! Sorry for the messy handwriting!

Welcome to PF!

Well the first problem with your post is posting images.

And the second problem with your post is it show two questions and some work done on paper.

Which question are you trying to solve and what page goes with what question?

My suggestion is to follow our homework template and type in what you've got so people can see it more clearly.

We have an advanced input editor that can provide latex support for entering your formulas.

This is probably why no one has responded yet as its hard to point out where you went wrong from an image of your work.
