Latex vs. MS Word/MathType: Which is Better for Writing Equations?

Also, I'd like to just add that the majority of equations I put into latex, I just write up in mathematica (very quick) and copy as LaTeX (there's also a MathML copy) and just paste it into LEd. Saves a lot of time.
