What Are the Electrical Resistance and Heat Capacity of Liquid Nitrogen?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The electrical resistance of liquid nitrogen is effectively zero, classifying it as an excellent insulator. The specific heat capacity of liquid nitrogen is approximately 1.04 kJ/kg·K, as confirmed by the Air Liquide datasheet. These properties make liquid nitrogen useful in various applications, including cryogenics and thermal management.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of thermal properties of materials
  • Familiarity with electrical resistance concepts
  • Knowledge of cryogenic fluids
  • Access to physical and chemical property tables
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the thermal conductivity of cryogenic liquids
  • Explore the applications of liquid nitrogen in cryogenics
  • Learn about the safety protocols for handling liquid nitrogen
  • Investigate the differences between liquid nitrogen and other cryogenic fluids
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, engineers, and scientists working in fields related to cryogenics, thermal management, and material science will benefit from this discussion.

I have two questions for you guys A) what is the electrical resistance per meter of Liquid Nitrogen and B) What is the heat specific heat capacity of Liquid N.

Engineering news on Phys.org
These are things that you can look up in tables of physical and chemical properties.
There are many online.

Since you are sitting in front of a computer connected to the internet I'm guessing you know this so you must have some other reason for the question.

A) Insulator
B) Air Liquide datasheet
