LM324: How to Create Sine Wave Output

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the LM324 operational amplifier and its ability to generate a sine wave output. Participants are exploring the necessary circuitry and configurations that enable this function, including potential AC coupling methods.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about how the LM324 can create a sine wave output from the op amp.
  • Another participant asserts that an op amp cannot generate a sine wave on its own without additional circuitry.
  • A third participant suggests that the inquiry might relate to AC coupling, referencing the op amp's datasheet for further information.
  • A link to a resource on oscillators is provided, possibly to illustrate relevant concepts or designs.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants do not reach a consensus; there are competing views regarding the capabilities of the LM324 and the necessary components for sine wave generation.

Contextual Notes

There may be limitations related to the assumptions about the circuit configuration and the specific application of the LM324 in generating sine waves, which are not fully explored in the discussion.

Hello

i would like to know, how does LM324 create a sine wave after the output of the op amp??

thanks

It doesn't. What are you asking about? An opamp does nothing on its own without some other circuitry...

Are you possibly thinking of how to ac couple the op amp? This is in it's datasheet.
