Any idea where the term "Wilson loops" got it's name?

From Kenneth G. Wilson, the same man who got the Nobel prize for his work with the renormalization group. Wilson in 1964 defined lattice gauge theory, and in connection with that he invented what are now called Wilson Lines. A Wilson Loop is just a closed Wilson Line.
