SUMMARY

The discussion centers on finding advanced literature on magnetism suitable for individuals beyond the high school level. Recommended resources include the MIT OpenCourseWare courses "Physics II: Electricity and Magnetism" (8.02SC) and "Magnetic Materials" (3.45), which provide in-depth exploration of magnetic phenomena. These courses are ideal for those seeking a comprehensive understanding of magnetism in a rigorous academic context.

PREREQUISITES
  • Basic understanding of physics principles
  • Familiarity with electromagnetism concepts
  • Knowledge of materials science fundamentals
  • Ability to engage with academic texts and coursework
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the MIT OpenCourseWare course "Physics II: Electricity and Magnetism" (8.02SC)
  • Investigate the MIT OpenCourseWare course "Magnetic Materials" (3.45)
  • Read "Introduction to Electrodynamics" by David J. Griffiths for a deeper theoretical understanding
  • Research advanced topics in magnetism such as magnetic hysteresis and ferromagnetism
USEFUL FOR

Hello,

I am nearing the end of my first year. I will have 1-2 months of vacation. I am really interested in getting grasp at least a little around magnetic phenomena.

If somebody could recommend me a book where this issue is addressed hard. Where magnetism is explained, but not on the high school level.

Thank you
