Mobile engine propulsion system?

In summary, the conversation discusses the possibility of creating a system with 4 engines on the corners of a 'fuselage' that can rotate and provide propulsion and deceleration, similar to the planes in Terminator 4. However, it is noted that the engineering and materials for such a creation would be challenging. The mention of the Ospray and Howard Hughes is made, and it is suggested that this configuration is common for flying cars that never see production. The conversation concludes by mentioning the impracticality and drawbacks of such an invention, and jokingly suggests moving around like the gray aliens by manipulating the Earth's magnetic fields.

would it be possible to have a system that has 4 engines on the corners of a 'fuselage' and these engines can rotate about joints giving the plane propulsion and deceleration. also this helps the pilot manipulate tha plane a lot easier (sort of like a helicopter).

NOTE: these are like the planes that they have in terminator 4. Is it possible to actually recreate those.

Sure, but the engineering and materials for such a creation is the hard part. Look at the Ospray. We really need annother Howard Hughes.

loud, inefficient, dangerous, unstable... there are a million reasons that invention will never see the light of day.

Now if only we could move about by manipulating the magnetic fields of the Earth like the gray aliens do...

What exactly is a mobile engine propulsion system?

A mobile engine propulsion system, also known as a propulsion system, is a type of engine that is used to power vehicles such as cars, planes, boats, and rockets. It is responsible for generating the necessary thrust to move the vehicle forward.

How does a mobile engine propulsion system work?

A mobile engine propulsion system works by converting energy from a fuel source, such as gasoline or electricity, into motion. This is achieved by burning fuel in a controlled explosion, which produces hot gases that are then directed out of a nozzle at the back of the engine. The reaction force of these gases propels the vehicle forward.

What are the different types of mobile engine propulsion systems?

There are several types of mobile engine propulsion systems, including internal combustion engines, electric motors, and jet engines. Internal combustion engines are the most commonly used in vehicles, using a fuel-air mixture to generate power. Electric motors use electricity to power the vehicle, while jet engines use the principle of jet propulsion to create thrust.

What are the advantages of using a mobile engine propulsion system?

One of the main advantages of using a mobile engine propulsion system is that it provides a reliable and powerful source of propulsion for vehicles. It also allows for efficient fuel consumption, making it more environmentally friendly. Additionally, different types of propulsion systems can be tailored to different types of vehicles, making it a versatile technology.

What are the potential drawbacks of using a mobile engine propulsion system?

One potential drawback of using a mobile engine propulsion system is that it can produce harmful emissions, such as carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which contribute to air pollution. It also relies on non-renewable energy sources, such as gasoline and diesel, which can have negative effects on the environment. Additionally, the production and maintenance of these systems can be costly.
