SUMMARY

The optimal motor for a DIY camera glider/slider project, capable of supporting a 2-3 KG camera and providing horizontal, inclined, and vertical movement up to 2 meters, is a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor. BLDC motors offer digital controllers that allow for precise speed control and torque management. These motors are available in various sizes and can operate at variable speeds, including down to zero, making them ideal for this application. A Google search will yield suitable options for purchasing a BLDC motor.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Brushless DC (BLDC) motor specifications
  • Familiarity with digital motor controllers
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design for camera sliders
  • Experience with speed control mechanisms in motors
NEXT STEPS
  • Research specific BLDC motor models suitable for camera gliders
  • Learn about digital controllers compatible with BLDC motors
  • Explore mechanical design principles for building a camera slider
  • Investigate speed control techniques for motors in DIY projects
USEFUL FOR

DIY enthusiasts, camera operators, and engineers involved in building camera sliders or gliders who require precise motor control and performance.

A BLDC motor is your best choice. They come with digital controllers that you canprogrs, with your computer. They come in many sizes. They can operate with variable speeds down to zero. Locate the one to but with a Google search
