No Picture on the CRT Television

SUMMARY

The discussion centers on a Panasonic CRT television that suddenly lost its picture while retaining sound. The primary cause identified for such an issue is a faulty tube; however, the user ruled this out due to the absence of tube-related symptoms. A burning smell from the back of the television suggests overheating components, likely due to dust accumulation on high voltage parts, which could lead to short circuits.

All of a sudden the picture on my Panasonic CRT television disappeared, but the sound remained. The most common cause of the picture disappearing is a faulty tube and the warning sign of this can be seen for some while.

So it can't be the tube. There was a funny burning type smell from the back of the set. Something must have been overheating. Any explanations, please?

Probalby dust on the high voltage parts causing a short circuit. Luckily it didn't start a fire.
