SUMMARY

The discussion centers on obtaining a spider diagram for AS Level Organic Chemistry, specifically focusing on the reactions between alkenes, alkanes, and halogenation processes. Participants emphasize the need for specificity regarding the reactions in question, suggesting that users consult their textbooks or online resources for detailed information. Key reactions mentioned include oxidation and halogenation of hydrocarbons, which are essential for understanding organic transformations at the AS Level.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of AS Level Organic Chemistry concepts
  • Familiarity with hydrocarbon reactions, including oxidation and halogenation
  • Access to organic chemistry textbooks or reliable online resources
  • Basic knowledge of spider diagrams and their use in visualizing chemical reactions
NEXT STEPS
  • Research specific oxidation reactions of alkenes and alkanes
  • Study halogenation mechanisms in organic chemistry
  • Explore spider diagram creation tools for visualizing chemical reactions
  • Review appendices in organic chemistry textbooks for reaction constants and additional details
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for AS Level chemistry students, educators, and anyone seeking to understand the relationships and reactions between different organic compounds, particularly in the context of alkenes and alkanes.

You're going to have to be more specific here...what specific reactions are you referring to?

its for like alkenes to alkanes to alogeno and oxdising (for the as course)

thanks :D

Consult your text or the internet, then come back to PF for help with specific reactions. I can't summarize oxidation/halogenation reactions of hydrocarbons and alkene-to-alkane reactions here.

many reactions are involved... in the alkanes to alkenes... pls see your back portion of your organic chem book in the appendices section... i know the author/s put it there the costant value of some reaction...:)
