Numerology

Play by the numbers! This week, your pictures must contain numbers, as in the Arabic numerals. These numbers must be clearly seen in your picture.

Zz.

Contest Rules:

1. Any digital photo or digitally-scanned photo relevant to the theme will be accepted within the contest period. In case there's a gray area, or you're not sure if the picture is suitable, check with me first.

2. Please resize your digital photo to no more than 650 x 490 or 490 x 650 pixels. You may also crop your picture if you wish. You are also allowed to adjust the brightness and contrast of your picture but these should not dramatically alter the look of the picture. But other than those, any form of picture editing or modification is not allowed. This is a photo contest, not a picture editing/special effect contest. You may add a watermark or your name/nickname to the photo for identification purposes.

3. Upload your photos to any of the photo servers such as imageshack or photobucket. Then post it the relevant contest thread and link your picture using the img command. PM me if you do not know how.

4. Only ONE picture per member per contest. Once a picture is posted, it cannot be changed other than a total withdrawl by that member from that week's photo contest. Exceptions will be made for modification to comply with the rules, such as resizing.

5. At the end of the contest period, I will open a poll and every PF member can vote for the picture they like best.

6. Note that in case we have a large number of entries, I will do the polling in more than one thread. If that's the case, you can vote in each of the polling threads. The photos will be assigned in the polling threads in the order they were submitted.

7. These pictures must be something that you took, not something taken off someone else's photo albums or taken by someone else. I have no way of checking if you did this, so we'll go by the honor system.

8. You can use a picture only once. Once it is used in a contest, it cannot be reused in another contest.

9. Please post only pictures meant for submission in this thread.

I'm wondering if we're going to have to ban you for crackpottery with this theme.

I don't know if I have anything that'll fit it...I have to look through my photos a bit in case there's a number hiding in there.

Yeah, perhaps the subject of ARABIC NUMBERS is just SO FASCINATING that everybody forgot to enter...same as the bad photo photo contest. If you really are that out of ideas, let us know, I am sure PFers have some ideas.

HEY! I won the bad photo contest and there were a LOT of entries!

Yeah, but I forgot to enter out of sheer amazement.

In all my billions and billions of photos, this is the only one I could find with numbers in it...

Can the numbers be an inadvertant date/time stamp :-p ?

A few years ago I could have taken the perfect picture for this contest. It an animated light sign for 7-Up on top of a building in town. Unfortunately, I never took a picture of it, and its gone now.

Here's my entry. It was this or a sign describing the New River Bridge. Sometimes I take close-ups like these to remember what the rest of my photos are about. This was certainly never meant to share, but there it is. This is from the East Coast Memorial in Battery Park, NYC. (Though, I've just noticed the pigeon reflection is pretty neat and unintentional.)

We were too busy enjoying the holiday (in USA at least) to post our exciting numerology photos. Be patient.

Or ... perhaps it's time for a

This is the clock on one of the Canadian ships I toured.

I had a picture of the Sea King, but then those aren't well known.

Vive le Quebec!

I know it looks like something overthinked, but all I did was I have arranged things lying on my desk in a neat order. Well, I have also pushed other things to sides, as I am one of those types with "clean desk is a sign of sick mind" sign hanging in the office (unless it is obscured by something else).

Handbook is from 1959, Fortran card (incomplete, used as a bookmark as long as I remember) from around 1980, TI was bought this year. Almost 50 years history of numerology in a snapshot.

Oh, and pencil is an old one as well, it is either 24 or 25 yo.

I love that, Borek!

BTW, my desk gets so bad sometimes that I have to raise the height of my chair...

I could never have a pencil 24 or 25 years old. I don't think I've made it to the end of the day without losing a pencil.

Nice picture by the way!

I also like a clean desk.

Me too. Or I should say, I'm envious of people with clean desks ...

It's raining and there's no sign of it stopping, so I've not been out to take a new photo. I did find this one lurking somewhere though.
