SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on utilizing piezoelectric disks to generate energy from pedestrian movement on footpaths. Participants recommend researching previous threads on the topic, specifically referencing a helpful link from the Electrical Engineering forum. It is established that piezoelectric disks can generate voltages ranging from 10mV to 100mV, and increasing the number of disks can produce sufficient voltage for energy storage. The emphasis is on conducting thorough research and development for the project.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of piezoelectric materials and their properties
  • Basic knowledge of circuit design and energy storage systems
  • Familiarity with voltage generation and measurement techniques
  • Experience with project development and research methodologies
NEXT STEPS
  • Research circuit designs suitable for piezoelectric energy harvesting
  • Explore energy storage solutions compatible with low-voltage outputs
  • Investigate the use of multiple piezoelectric disks for increased voltage
  • Learn about the applications of piezoelectric materials in energy generation
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for electrical engineers, project developers, and anyone interested in renewable energy solutions using piezoelectric technology.

Welcome to the PF.

This previous thread from here in the EE forum should be of help:

https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=373327

Once you read that thread and do some other reading (assuming wikipedia comes back up tomorrow), let us know if you have specific questions. Remember, this is *your* school project, so you must do the bulk of the research and development work.

These discs can be used as guitar pickups and in that application generate voltages of about 10mV to 100mV... something for you to go on.

But the more no. Of disk produce more voltage that can be sufficiant power to store.
