Plexiglas (PMMA) Vapour Pressure: Seeking Info

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion centers around the vapour pressure of plexiglass (PMMA) at ambient temperature, with participants seeking specific values and relevant resources. The scope includes theoretical and practical aspects of material properties.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about the vapour pressure of plexiglass (PMMA) at ambient temperature, noting difficulty in finding this information online.
  • Another participant provides a link to a NASA resource that may contain relevant information about outgassing.
  • A third participant cites a source indicating that the vapour pressure of acrylic materials, including plexiglass, is in the 10-7 Torr range.
  • A fourth participant expresses gratitude for the provided links and information.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants have not reached a consensus on a specific value for the vapour pressure, but there are multiple references and suggestions for further exploration.

Contextual Notes

The discussion does not clarify the conditions under which the vapour pressure values apply, nor does it address potential variations based on specific formulations of PMMA.
