SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on plotting contact pressure versus the X-axis in ANSYS Workbench, specifically in the context of a wheel axle contact simulation. The user expresses difficulty in generating this plot despite using ANSYS Workbench and APDL. It is established that proper setup of the model, including boundary conditions, is crucial for successfully visualizing contact stress in ANSYS Workbench.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of ANSYS Workbench interface and functionalities
  • Familiarity with APDL (ANSYS Parametric Design Language)
  • Knowledge of contact mechanics and boundary conditions
  • Experience with simulation setup in ANSYS for static analysis
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to set up contact conditions in ANSYS Workbench
  • Learn about defining boundary conditions for accurate simulations
  • Explore ANSYS documentation on plotting results and using the post-processing tools
  • Investigate example projects in ANSYS that involve contact pressure analysis
USEFUL FOR

Mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, and students working on contact pressure analysis in ANSYS Workbench will benefit from this discussion.

Welcome to the PF.

So when you look at all of the ANSYS example projects online, which ones come close to matching what you want to do? What simulations have you done already in ANSYS? Can you post some of your previous work? Is this for your schoolwork?

Thank you mr berkman
I tried to make a simple wheel eail contact in static And I can not plot the graph of the distribution of the conctact pressure in the contact area with ansys workbench. Even with apdl

Ansys Workbench is able to easily plot contact stress on a contact condition, but it has to be set up correctly in the first place.

I recommend giving us more specific information about your model (including boundary conditions and pictures) if you want us to give quality feedback.
