SUMMARY

The discussion centers on preparing for the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO) with a focus on effective study strategies and resources. The participant, currently in 11th grade, has a solid foundation in physics, having studied Resnick-Halliday and solved approximately 130 problems from IE Irodov. Key recommendations include solving past question papers to self-assess readiness and utilizing the reference page from HBCSE for additional resources. The participant also inquires about the necessary mathematical knowledge, indicating a proficiency in basic calculus.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of classical mechanics as covered in Resnick-Halliday
  • Familiarity with advanced problem-solving techniques from IE Irodov
  • Basic knowledge of calculus and its applications in physics
  • Awareness of the structure and requirements of the IPHO
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore additional problem books such as "Problems in General Physics" by I.E. Irodov
  • Study advanced calculus topics relevant to physics, including differential equations
  • Practice with past IPHO papers to enhance problem-solving speed and accuracy
  • Visit the HBCSE reference page for supplementary materials and resources

iam starting 11th grade this year and i want to appear in IPHO for the next two years. I am pretty talented and i am aiming for two golds. i have about ten months for the qualifier in my country . i know all theory and i have a pretty good grasp . i have solved many problems from resnick halliday and about 130 from IE IRODOV .

I need guidance on how to go about from here and is there any other good problem book .
Also i need to know how much Math i need to know for IPHO . iam pretty good with basic calculus what more should i learn .

INPhO (Semifinals) is in February 3rd.solve the Question paper and Rank yourself if you completed the Resnick-Halliday. Resnick-Halliday is an ultimate text for introductory Physics and IPhO test is on level of it. If you want more go to Reference page of Olympiads.hbcse.tifr.res.in/

Also don't post so many threads regarding one problem.your all threads started yet deals with same topic and in one you write you are in 9th grade here you write 11th grade why

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post a question like this, as I am new to this website and also very nervous about making a post that others might see/reply to. I am a freshman in high school and I am interested in astronomy. I want to learn about space, but I am not quite sure where to begin. Is there anything that I can do to seriously expand my...
