what is the most simple circuit (with batteries as generator) i can make to make a light bulb or diiode keep going on and off?

A battery in series with a (LED + Resistor / light bulb) and an on-off button. Arbitrary frequency and duty cycle. As long as your finger lasts, I guess (though it is the simplest!)

...Okay, so the next step up would maybe be a 555 timer in astable oscillator mode (Google for 555 timer, or 555 square wave).
