Was it a funeral procession? What did the flags say?

It was a religious march, I had not heard of it before. I have a few flag ones but they are not as picturesque as the horses!

This was a surprise. The film "Yanks," 1979, was filmed in parts of greater Manchester. Ashton commemorate the shoot every couple of years.
