Deleting GDI.exe from the Windows system folder can lead to system issues, but there are potential solutions to restore the file without reinstalling Windows. Performing a system restore to an earlier date may recover the deleted file, as this feature can revert the system to a previous state. Additionally, users should check the Recycle Bin in case the file is still there. Windows may automatically recreate important system files, although this is uncertain for GDI.exe specifically. If these methods do not work, locating the Windows installation CD could be necessary for recovery.

Yesterday, I did something really stupid. I deleted GDI.exe from my windows system folder. Is there anyway to replace it without reloading windows since I don't know where the disk is? I was deleting some virus that put in a hundred or so exe files with permutations of three letters as their title and I accidently got the Gdi.exe as well.

I'm not sure, but maybe doing a "system restore to an earlier date" will correct this problem. Go to "PC Help and Tools" and select "System Restore" and then do a restore to an earlier date. Perhaps someone here can verify this.

You could have the deleted file in the Recycle Bin.
Even if you don't have that file, Windows automatically re creates important files that have been completely deleted (I don't know about Gdi.exe). Try also system restore at an earlier point as saltydog suggested. Otherwise, try to find the installation CD if that's not a big trouble.

Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
