SUMMARY

This discussion focuses on research topic suggestions for a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, specifically in the areas of Surveying/Transportation, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials and Testing. Key suggestions include exploring foundations in aqueous environments, which encompasses materials used in salt and fresh water, construction methods in water, and foundation geotechnics. Another proposed topic is the transport challenges in regions with numerous water crossings, such as Holland or Venice, particularly regarding establishing survey control in unstable ground conditions. The urgency of the title defense scheduled for Thursday emphasizes the need for timely and relevant research topics.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Geotechnical Engineering principles
  • Familiarity with Surveying techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of Construction Materials and Testing methods
  • Basic concepts of Environmental Engineering related to water interactions
NEXT STEPS
  • Research "Geotechnical Engineering in Aqueous Environments" for insights on foundation design
  • Investigate "Surveying Techniques for Unstable Ground" to enhance control point establishment
  • Explore "Construction Materials for Marine Applications" to understand material performance in water
  • Examine "Transportation Engineering in Flood-Prone Areas" for innovative transport solutions
USEFUL FOR

Civil engineering students, academic researchers, and professionals in the fields of geotechnical and transportation engineering seeking relevant and innovative research topics for their Bachelor’s thesis.

I need suggestions of any research topics related to civil engineering for a bachelor level. My current fields of interest include Surveying/transportation, geotechnical engineering and construction materials and testing. Our title defense will take place on Thursday so I'm a bit on a hurry mode. My previous titles were hypothetically rejected prior to mediocrity and some inconsistency issues. Anyone? Thanks.

How about something about foundations in aqueous environments?

That would offer many different angles to look at, from materials in salt and fresh water, construction methods in water, foundation geotechnics.

Alternatively you could examine the transport angle; Transport in an environment requiring many water (river + canal) crossings as in Holland or Venice and establishing survey control when there is no stable ground to fix control point to.

go well on Thursday.
