Science Newbies with Questions

I've joined because I'm a science newbie with a lot of questions. Also because in search for answers to some of my questions I can across this forum.

If I come off like a idiot, its like I said, I'm new to this. So I apologize. All I want is an understanding to a couple of things that interest me and a clear direction as to where I can go to learn more.
