Solving Magnetic Field Problems with Simulation Software

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for simulation software to calculate magnetic and electric fields in a closed space surrounded by inductors. IanTrout inquires specifically about the capabilities of CST Studio Suite for this purpose. Participants suggest exploring CST's features and refer to a related thread on Physics Forums for additional insights. The consensus indicates that CST is a viable option for simulating electromagnetic fields.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electromagnetic field theory
  • Familiarity with CST Studio Suite
  • Knowledge of inductive components and their behavior
  • Basic skills in simulation software usage
NEXT STEPS
  • Research CST Studio Suite's capabilities for electromagnetic simulations
  • Explore alternative simulation tools like ANSYS Maxwell
  • Learn about finite element analysis (FEA) in electromagnetic contexts
  • Investigate the use of COMSOL Multiphysics for field calculations
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, physicists, and researchers involved in electromagnetic field simulations, particularly those working with inductive systems and requiring precise modeling tools.

Hi Everybody,

This is my first post here, and I hope I'm in the right place for my question...
I have a small problem , I need a simulation software that can calculate the magnetic (and optionally the electric) field in a closed space that is surrounded by an array of inductors.

Right now I'm trying to figure out whether CST can help me with this.
It would be really helpful if you could tell me if CST is what I need and if not, I would appreciate any suggestions on the subject.

Thanks,
IanTrout

Have a look at this thread in the EE forum from a while back. Is it of any help?
