Supernova explosions element detection.

Hey ppl i wanted to know that wat is the name of the method with which astrosphysicists are able to detect the elements present in supernovae.for eg they say type 2 suprnva is mainly hydrogen containing.

Is it by spectroscopy if yes which one? pleasez temme soon

Optical spectroscopy via detection of emission lines is the way to determine elements remotely.
