AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the recent remake of Cat Stevens' album "Tea for the Tillerman." Participants express mixed feelings about the new versions of the songs. Positive remarks highlight "Sad Lisa" and "Into White," with one participant expressing a strong affection for the latter. Conversely, there are criticisms of tracks like "Wild World," which some find disappointing, and "Longer Boats," which starts well but becomes unconventional. The overall sentiment suggests that the remakes maintain a resemblance to the originals, with one commenter noting that after 40 years of practice, the new versions should ideally improve upon the originals. There is a desire for more artists to undertake similar remakes.

Just recently I became aware of this major remake of the Cat Stevens album "Tea for the Tillerman".

I really like some of them, e.g.,

Sad Lisa: (Very good new version, IMHO.)

Into White: (I absolutely LOVE the new version.)

Others I really dislike, e.g., Wild World.

Longer Boats started off ok, and then went kinda weird...

Your thoughts... ?

I thought, sounds just like the original, maybe better.

After 40 years of practice it had ought to be better. I wish more artists would do this.

The piece came-up from the "Lame Jokes" section of the forum. Someobody carried a step from one of the posts and I became curious and tried a brief web search. A web page gives some justification of sorts why we can use goose(s)-geese(p), but not moose(s)-meese(p). Look for the part of the page headed with "Why isn't "meese" the correct plural?" https://languagetool.org/insights/post/plural-of-moose/
