The conversation revolves around a critique of guitar playing, where one participant, hecto24, asks if they need to calm down while playing. Another participant, permanentsp, suggests that calming down could help, particularly regarding hitting unintended strings. Hecto24 defends their playing style, insisting they can't change how they play, which leads to tension as permanentsp continues to critique their technique. The dialogue escalates with sarcasm and misunderstandings, resulting in both parties appearing irrational. Observers note that hecto24 seems to be overly defensive and antagonistic, while permanentsp's persistent critiques rub hecto24 the wrong way. The discussion highlights communication issues and the challenges of giving and receiving feedback, with participants ultimately concluding that both individuals exhibit irrational behavior.

C'mon; your memory can't be that bad. Leave the auto-feed clamp up, and it recycles the tone arm.

Oh, you have a single, not an LP. Yeah, my memory is that bad though. I haven't had a turntable in ages. All my records are in the clutches of my parents too (I didn't consider it important to keep them in my possession since I didn't have a turntable anyway...though I've been learning my parents aren't very good guardians of my stuff). They've probably either sold them all at a garage sale or left them to melt in the heat of their garage by now. :frown: One of these days I need to drive to see them instead of flying so I can reclaim what's left of my stuff that moved with them to FL (I was only living in a tiny, 3 room apartment when they moved, so my stuff went with them).

Edit: Wait, is that an album or song title you're talking about? Traffic is from before my time, so I only have a CD of John Barleycorn Must Die (album). I like their music, just don't have titles memorized, and don't actually own any more of it than the one CD.

No, it works the same way for albums.

That's one thing I quite envied about the ex-from-hell. Her mother in England is storing for her, in perfect condition, every single ever released by the Beatles unplayed. :bugeye:

I voted for Hecto24 being the crazy one. IMO, it is not rational to call bad playing a style. It is just bad technique. Hecto24 should take some lessons OR if his fingers are too big for the neck, maybe he should take up the bass or the ukelele, maybe a dulcimer.

His fingers definitely aren't too big for the neck, he's only about 5'5", and has regular sized hands. He's also been taking lessons, but it's with this burn-out guy I used to take lessons with who really doesn't try to correct you or make you better, just essentially jams with you for 45 minutes.

Now I'm depressed. :frown:

Don't be. We both like Traffic!

FYI, I voted that the other guy was crazy. I wanted to change my vote because once the conversation was put into context, I quickly realized that the Traffic-hater was the crazy one.

Now let's spread around some Medicated Goo. :approve:
