SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the temperature of compressed air within a 90-liter tank at 3000 psi. It is established that if the tank has been stationary for a sufficient duration, the internal temperature will equilibrate with the external temperature. This principle is based on thermodynamic laws, specifically the ideal gas law, which dictates that pressure, volume, and temperature are interrelated in gases.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the ideal gas law
  • Basic principles of thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of pressure measurement units (psi)
  • Familiarity with compressed air systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the ideal gas law and its applications in real-world scenarios
  • Explore thermodynamic properties of gases under compression
  • Learn about pressure and temperature relationships in compressed air systems
  • Investigate methods for measuring temperature in pressurized tanks
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for engineers, technicians, and anyone involved in the design or maintenance of compressed air systems, as well as those studying thermodynamics and gas laws.

Anyone help with an answer?
I have 90litres of Compressed air @ 3000psi. Can anyone tell me the actual temperature in the tank?

If it's been sitting around for long enough, the temperature inside the tank is the same as the temperature outside the tank.
