Temperature Measurement Turning Machine (HELP)

I am going to use tool work thermocouple to measure the temperature but i am facing a problem.
I know i can use steel strip to one of the wire.
but how about the second wire?
If my insert is Titanium Carbide.
Is it ok if i using different material from the insert to connect to second wire ?
I am so confuse with it now...PLEASE HELP T_T

what insulation i should use for prevent workpiece transfer electric to machine ?
Is it PVC soft ok ? if my experiment will up to 300 or 400 celsius ?
