Thermistor + Simulink: Temperature Control in xPC Target Toolbox

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on implementing a temperature control system using a thermistor within the xPC Target Toolbox of MATLAB. Users seek guidance on whether a pre-existing Simulink library for thermistors exists or if they need to create a custom block incorporating the thermistor's transfer function. The conversation emphasizes the importance of accurately modeling the thermistor's resistance to derive its transfer function for effective simulation.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Understanding of thermistor characteristics and resistance-temperature relationships
  • Knowledge of transfer functions in control systems
  • Experience with xPC Target Toolbox for real-time simulations
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to derive the transfer function of a thermistor
  • Explore existing Simulink libraries for temperature sensors
  • Learn how to create custom blocks in Simulink
  • Investigate interfacing thermistors with microcontrollers for data acquisition
USEFUL FOR

Students, engineers, and researchers involved in control systems, particularly those working with temperature sensors and real-time simulations in MATLAB and Simulink.

Hi Everybody, I'm doing a small project for my studies, I'm developing the xPC Target toolbox of Matlab.

well the point is that i need to do a temperature control, I'm using a thermistor as temperature sensor and i need to insert a block into simulink of the thermistor to start to make the whole simulation, and i don't know if there is a library for simulink for example or if i need to do a personalized block with the transfer function of the thermistor
if anybody can help i will appreciate it

Thanks

Can you used model of thermistor by look the resistance, etc to find transfer function?
If you find transfer function of thermistor it's can apply in Simulink.

How do you connect your thermistor to Simulink?
Can you using microcontroller??
