SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the search for turboprop aircraft engine propeller efficiency data, specifically highlighting the difficulty in finding comprehensive tables of modern engines and their efficiencies. Users have noted that propeller efficiency varies based on factors such as RPM, airspeed, air density, and power. Hartzell Propeller emphasizes that their integration manuals are limited and recommends contacting their OEM Sales for detailed information. Additional manufacturers mentioned include McCauley and MT-Propeller, which may also provide relevant data.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of turboprop engine mechanics
  • Familiarity with propeller efficiency concepts
  • Knowledge of factors affecting propeller performance (RPM, airspeed, air density, power)
  • Basic research skills for navigating manufacturer websites
NEXT STEPS
  • Contact Hartzell OEM Sales for detailed propeller efficiency data
  • Research McCauley and MT-Propeller for additional efficiency information
  • Explore propeller efficiency charts and graphs for various turboprop engines
  • Investigate the impact of environmental factors on propeller performance

Turboprop engine propeller efficiency data
Hello, I'm looking for data on turboprop aircraft engine propeller efficiencies.

I'm hoping for a table of available modern engines with a propeller efficiencies for comparison.

I've tried Googling but not much luck.

I can't even seem to find propeller efficiencies on the individual engine manufacturer websites.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

A simple plot of efficiency is not possible because propeller efficiency is a function of RPM, airspeed, air density, and power. The propeller manufacturers have this information. Hartzell has the following to say: Distribution of Hartzell Propeller Integration Manuals is limited and controlled. Please contact Hartzell OEM Sales for more information. http://hartzellprop.com/contact/.

See Hartzell's web page at https://hartzellprop.com/services/product-support-library/manuals/. Other propeller manufacturers for turbine engines include McCauley and MT-Propeller.

Due to the constant never ending supply of "cool stuff" happening in Aerospace these days I'm creating this thread to consolidate posts every time something new comes along. Please feel free to add random information if its relevant. So to start things off here is the SpaceX Dragon launch coming up shortly, I'll be following up afterwards to see how it all goes. https://blogs.nasa.gov/spacex/
