SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the incident where pole vaulter Lazaro Borges' pole broke into three pieces during the Olympic Games in London on August 8, 2012. Multiple sources, including a slow-motion video, confirm the breakage, although access to the footage is restricted in certain regions, particularly the U.S. Users express frustration over regional restrictions for viewing the video, which is hosted on BBC and other platforms. The conversation also touches on the potential relation to the Feynman spaghetti problem, although this connection remains unclear.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of pole vaulting techniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with video hosting platforms and regional restrictions.
  • Basic knowledge of the Feynman spaghetti problem in physics.
  • Awareness of Olympic events and athlete participation.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the mechanics of pole vaulting and common equipment failures.
  • Explore the Feynman spaghetti problem and its implications in physics.
  • Investigate video hosting platform restrictions and how to bypass them.
  • Watch the slow-motion footage of the pole break for analysis.
USEFUL FOR

Athletes, coaches, sports analysts, and physics enthusiasts interested in the dynamics of pole vaulting and equipment failure analysis.

No idea, I can't see anything but one blurry picture of the pole. Did it break into 3 pieces?

It is a video. Maybe you do not have the right plug-in?

The pole is shown breaking into three pieces, in slow motion, from several angles.

It says I can't watch it because of the region I live in. Guess we can't watch it here in the U.S.

Sorry, that must be because it is on the BBC.

It must be somewhere on the interweb you can see it. The competitor is Lazaro Borges, at the Olympic Games in London, 8 August 2012.

It looks like it could be the same effect, but I'm not sure.
