AI Thread Summary
User notes are intended for personal reminders or insights that may not be visible to others, leading to confusion about their visibility. One user confirmed they could see their own note but questioned if others could access it. The discussion highlights that user notes may serve primarily as private annotations rather than shared content. Overall, the functionality of user notes appears to enhance personal organization but lacks clarity on public visibility. This feature can improve the online experience by allowing users to keep track of their thoughts and interactions.

what does "post new user notes" do?

Physics news on Phys.org
Check out my profile, tell me if you can see my user note. I posted one a while ago, but I don't think anyone else can actually see it. If so, then I guess it is just a private note to yourself.

If it doesn't show up in my profile, try: https://www.physicsforums.com/usernote.php?u=3595

Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
